How to get Hair Like Sailor Moon

Sailor Moon is the most famous (and possibly the most popular) odango atama in anime. If you want to do your hair like her, you've come to the right article!

Steps

  1. Make a center parting with your thin comb.
  2. Take two hair ties, and make high, symmetrical pigtails.
  3. Pick a pigtail. Whichever you pick, twist in one direction (for right, twist counter clockwise. For left, twist clockwise).
  4. Make a loop with the pigtail.
  5. Pass the pigtail through the loop, then tighten it. This should form a knot(if you did it right!).
  6. Hold the knot firmly to your head, then tie the knot so it won't fall out.
  7. Repeat with the other pigtail.
  8. Yell, "soulja boy marry me!" or any other transformation of Sailor Moon (optional).

Tips

  • If you want to, make a fringe with a curl at the end. This is needed for a tiara if you are making one.
  • You can add extra bits on. Sailor Moon has a tiara and odango hair pieces.
  • Making three pigtails on each side will look like Sailor Cosmos, the ultimate form of Sailor Moon. This is another way of doing it, although it is much harder to do.
  • Your hair does not have to be blonde for this. It's optional for blonde hair dye if your parents let you.
  • It's hard to put the odango pieces on. I would suggest sticking cardboard odango pieces on hair pins, then sticking them into the odango.
  • On other sailor moon forms, you will notice she has wing things. To make them, stick three white pompoms and three white wings on to a hair clip.

Warnings

  • Do not twist the pigtails too tight or too loose. Making it too tight will make it impossible to tie a knot. Making it too loose will erase some of the quality of the hairstyle.

Things You'll Need

  • Hair that is at least midi-lengh, if not longer.
  • A brush, and a thin comb
  • 4 to 6 hair bands.
