Do you want to know how to dress for a formal school dance? There are a few ways to do it and depending on your personality and the formality of the dance you might have to change this advise but here are some good guidelines.

Steps

1. For girls wear a formal dress or velvet skirt and a pretty blouse.
   
2. For guys, rent a tuxedo if your date is wearing a formal dress. Otherwise, get a nice either blazer or suit and be sure to wear a nice tie.
   
3. Get dress shoes, you don't want to look like a loser wearing fancy clothing and sneakers.
   
4. Polish you dress shoes, most shoes will not come polished so get a nice brush, polish and a rag while your out
   
5. Take some time putting on your cloths and make sure that everything is straight and properly aligned.
   

Tips

• Make sure that your shirt and pants are pressed and have NO wrinkles in them
  
• Make sure the colors on your cloths go together well.
  
• For guys spray a little bit of cologne on but not too much. Spray some on your neck then some on your wrist.
  

Warnings

• Boys, watch the tie - make sure that it is tied nicely and is not sloppy on your neck.
  
• Make sure that your dress shoes are polished.
  
• Don't wear a clip on tie. People WILL notice and you will get made fun of.
